An intimate and exclusive boutique hotel with the ambiance of an Italian townhouse is taking shape next to beautiful Tegne\u0301rlunden in central Stockholm, where Norrmalm and Vasastan merges together. The boutique hotel, with a planned opening in early autumn 2024, will be a sister hotel to Hotel Diplomat and Villa Dagmar.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Near the green, scenic surroundings of Tegne\u0301rlunden, the1960s building at the intersection of Teknologgatan 2 and Tegne\u0301rlunden 8 is undergoing a rebuild and transformation. Architect Per O\u0308berg is in the midst of completing the new boutique hotel, which is expected to open its doors in early autumn 2024. The property, Barnhusva\u0308derkvarnen 22 (built in 1966), previously home to Hotell Tegne\u0301rlunden, is now being transformed into an exclusive boutique hotel designed to capture the essence of Italy, with design elements inspired by a generously proportioned Milan-inspired townhouse.<\/p>\n

The new hotel will offer 103 guest rooms and suites, many with fantastic views of Tegne\u0301rlunden, a restaurant and cocktail bar. The hotel will also have a spa, gym, boule court and a Chambre Se\u0301pare\u0301e\/conference room. The hotel\u2019s international environment and atmosphere was created by co-opener Anna Cappelen, together with her daughter Pauline Cappelen, who drew inspiration from their travels in Italy and Milan in particular. Responsible for the project management is co-owner Sune Malmstro\u0308m.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have taken the knowledge, craftsmanship, DNA and the familial touch from our other hotels and applied them in new ways \u2013 all aimed at bringing our vision of an Italian townhouse to life. Half-siblings Anna Cappelen and Sune Malmstro\u0308m together with Jan-A\u030ake Glommen and Fredrik Lindberg collectively own the property. Hotel Diplomat AB will oversee the operations of the new hotel and is the tenant. The Malmstro\u0308m family has been running hotel operations for four generations, starting in the 1960s. Even today, they continue to successfully operate Hotel Diplomat \u2013 named \u201cSweden\u2019s best hotel\u201d five times running by the prestigious Conde\u0301 Nast Traveler Readers\u2019 Choice Award, in the category \u201cBest Hotels in Northern Europe\u201d, while Villa Dagmar, located on Nybrogatan next to O\u0308stermalms Saluhall, has been awarded National Geographic\u2019s Traveler Hotel Awards 2021 and recognized by Tatler Travel Guide 2022 as one of the world\u2019s top 101 hotels.<\/p>\n
