Discover harvest and autumn festivals in Stockholm

When autumn arrives, Stockholm embraces the season with traditional harvest markets and festivals. They’re not just about shopping, they’re celebrations of food, craftsmanship, and community.

HARVEST FESTIVALS IN STOCKHOLM

Bondens egen marknad (The Farmers’ Market)

Held on Katarina Bangata and in Tessinparken, is one of the most popular. Here you meet local farmers, beekeepers, and artisanal food producers selling freshly picked apples, mushrooms, homemade charcuterie, honey, jams, and cider. The atmosphere feels rustic and authentic – a little piece of the countryside right in the middle of the city.

Rosendals Trädgård

At Rosendals Trädgård on Djurgården, the annual harvest market usually focuses on apples and autumn produce. Visitors can taste freshly pressed apple juice, buy different heirloom apple varieties, enjoy warm bread from the wood-fired oven, or pick up seasonal flowers and organic goods from the gardens. The surrounding golden leaves on Djurgården make it especially picturesque.

Skansen

Stockholm’s open-air museum, Skansen, hosts a traditional harvest fair with costumed vendors, folk music, and dancing. You’ll find stalls filled with lingonberries, root vegetables, fish, bread, and preserves, just as markets might have looked a hundred years ago. It’s also a chance to learn about historic preservation methods like pickling, fermenting, and drying fruits.

We at Villa Dagmar hope you have a wonderful day, do not hesitate to ask our friendly staff.
